The Inspector-General of Intelligence, Dr Setlhomamaru Dintwe, is investigating the alleged tapping of Ace Magashule’s phone, Beeld reports. The ANC secretary-general earlier claimed state resources were being used to spy on him and his deputy, Jessie Duarte. Duarte declined to comment on whether she, too, has submitted a complaint to authorities. In the meantime, ANC elections head Fikile Mbalula said Magashule should provide proof of his claims. ‘To continuously claim that the state is being used against you, you must at least provide empirical evidence,’ he is quoted as saying.
